HeadStart Ambassadors are 16 - 25 year olds who work alongside the HYPE Team to support young people in the city.
It is a new initiative led by the HeadStart Young People Engagement Team. The ambassadors work alongside HeadStart staff to support and influence the delivery of programmes and projects, and challenge and support HeadStart in delivering the very best for young people in the city.
Let's meet just a few of our current HeadStart Ambassadors!
Hi my name, is Aarun. I joined the HeadStart ambassador team because of the vast opportunities it has to offer for young people such as myself. I started to show an interest in mental health after I signed up for HeadStart because it may me realize that people who are at the same age as myself are not living the life they should be and should have someone there for them to talk to also to put them on the right track. In my spare time, I go to the gym often, play professional level pool, go to the local Gurdwara to do Sewa (giving a helping hand) and revising for my A-Levels as currently I’m in first year of sixth form. In my role of being a HeadStart ambassador I would like to be innovative and successful in making HeadStart a recognisable company and be recognised of what we do as a team for the society of Wolverhampton.
My name's Dan and I am a 20 year old gamer/ artist. I have experience in both computer games design as well as conceptual drawing and hope to one day be able to turn these hobbies into a career. I wanted to be involved with HeadStart so i could share my experiences with others and help to prevent people making the same mistakes I have. I would also love to be able to show how powerful art can be in helping build resilience.

I’m proud to be a part of it! My hopes and ambitions for the future is to get some qualifications around working with young people mentoring and finally get a job around that area!!also make a real difference is people’s lives.im really dedicated to helping others and want to spend my time in a career that achieves that!!

Hi, most people call me Mish, I'm fun and friendly, and I always strive to be optimistic in any situation. I love to had fun, and I'm a strong believer of "do what makes you happy". I don't always necessarily go along with the trends, but I will still be able to find something to talk about with nearly anyone. I love music, I play guitar, I dance, and I'm a very strong willed person, so will achieve anything I set my mind to. I find talking to new people really interesting as everyone has a different perspective, so, although I love to chat (and I could 24/7) I also love to listen to what everyone has to say. I can't resist a bit of fun, although I'm also a hard worker, and I'm always up for a new challenge. Its been a while since I first got involved with HeadStart and I am very proud to now call myself a HeadStart Ambassador!
I'm Lyd, I like a lot of things in life, my favourite animal in the world is an elephant (as you can probably tell from my excitement in that photo) and although my mom says it's not possible I am determined to have one. My friends call me 'Bridget Jones' because I'm really clumsy. I also have a passion for literature especially Shakespeare, I played Helena in A Midsummers Nights Dream in Birmingham a few years back. I also adore musicals, I can't tell you how many times I've re-enacted 'Somewhere' from West Side Story in the shower.
