HeadStart Wolverhampton has a new home!

HeadStart Wolverhampton has a new home!

A brief ceremony to celebrate the opening took place this morning, September 8th. Councillor Val Gibson, Cabinet Member for Children and Families, cut the ribbon to welcome young people and educational / health professionals to the new offices on Shaw Road.

The new offices have been named Stanford House, after Stanford University in California where Steve Jobs gave a famous address to graduates in 2005.

The new location will house the HeadStart team, but is also designed as an ideal space for young people to meet, discuss, plan and create resources as they work on a range of HeadStart activities. The B-Safe Student Safeguarding board are already making regular use of the venue for sessions, and will be meeting again this evening to plan digital and resources in support of World Suicide Prevention Day, which is on Thursday, September 9th. Young people working in HeadStart projects will also be able to make use of IT facilities at the new site for the creation of digital media, including film, podcasts and music.

If you're a young person or professional working as part of Wolverhampton HeadStart, we look forward to welcoming you to our new home soon.
