Learn about mental health in young people: free CAMHS workshops for parents and carers

(Edited 20th February to add details of sessions at The Hope Centre)

Are you are parent or carer, and want to know more about mental health issues in young people, and what you can do to promote positive mental health?

Our HeadStart CAMHS Link Worker Lucy has organised a series of themed lunchtime workshops for parents and carers. The workshops will allow parents or carers to learn about issues including depression, anxiety and self-harm.

Workshops are being held on Monday and Wednesday lunchtimes from The Big Venture Centre, WV10 8SP (Mondays) and The Hope Centre, WV10 0HH (Wednesdays), based around the following themes:

  • The Emotional Impact of Bullying
  • Young People and Depression
  • Young People and Anxiety
  • Young People and Self-Harm
  • Promoting Positive Mental Health

Please note: the sessions offer advice and guidance. They are not a means of referring a young person into CAMHS support, but can offer advice on the processes, if appropriate.
