Come and have your say, and share your thoughts on the future of HeadStart in the community

Come and have your say: HeadStart Community Consultation Workshops, Wednesday 21st November 2018

Choose from two workshops (please don’t attend both!)

Wed. Nov 21st, 9.30 am to 12pm at Bob Jones Community Hub, Bromley Street, Wolverhampton, WV2 3AS

Wed. Nov 21st, 1pm to 3.30 pm at Aladdin’s Education, Cannock Rd, Wolverhampton, WV10 0RA

HeadStart was funded by the Big Lottery to test different approaches and projects which aim to improve emotional mental health and wellbeing in young people aged 10 to16.

There have been a number of projects happening in the four HeadStart geographical areas as part of HeadStart since 2016 and the HeadStart team are now consulting with people who live and work in those areas about the impact and future of the project. The funding from Big Lottery finishes in 2020 and this consultation is the start of thinking together about what, if anything, should be kept going with help from other funders and the commitment of the community.

Please come along to the workshop. It doesn’t matter if you have had lots or very little contact with the programme, we need your help to think about the following;

  • What difference has HeadStart made in this area?

  • What are the best parts of the programme and why?

  • On what criteria should decisions about the future of HeadStart be made?

  • How can you help us to find out more about how HeadStart is helping people?

A number of workshops and focus groups are being held as part of the consultation so we will hear from a range of young people, parents, residents and service providers in the areas. This workshop will be mainly focused on the aims and impact specifically of community-based projects for young people, parents and families.

If you would like to attend and haven’t already booked your place on the workshop, please email Jayne Watters at

We look forward to seeing you on the 21st November 2018.
