HeadStart Wolverhampton Supports 'Orange Wolverhampton' campaign to end violence against women and girls

The United Nations’ Orange the World campaign takes place annually over 16 days from 25 November until December 10th, which is International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

HeadStart Wolverhampton is supporting Wolverhampton Safeguarding's local campaign to 'Orange Wolverhampton'. For full details of how you can help to support this incredibly important cause, visit the Wolverhampton Safeguarding website, where you will find a range of resources for visitors to read and use, including posters, images for sharing on social media, and lesson resources.

The key messages of the Orange Wolverhampton Campaign are:

  • Wolverhampton says 'No' to all Violence Against Women and Girls
  • Organisations should work very closely together to reduce the prevalence of these forms of violence and to support all those affected by them, including children
  • There is help and support available to anyone affected by these issues

Orange Wolverhampton Events with HeadStart

The HeadStart Team in All Saints, Blakenhall, Parkfields and Ettingshall are working alongside Positive Participation Ltd as part of the Orange Wolverhampton campaign.

A coffee morning has been organised at the Bob Jones Community Hub, WV2 3AS, 10am to 12pm, on 4th December 2017.

As well as creating awareness of gender based violence against women & young girls, all money raised will support a monthly drop-in for women and young girls at Bob Jones Community Hub.

Orange Wolverhampton Resources on the new HeadStart Support and Guidance Platform

We've compiled together some resources to support Orange Wolverhampton onto our new Support and Guidance platform; these include videos, information on support organisations, webpages, research reports, downloads and more:

We're still hard at work adding content to the new platform on a wide range of emotional well-being and mental health issues, but we hope that the Orange Wolverhampton resources are a great starting point for exploring our new site!
